Baby dedications are a special part of our services at Heartland Church. We believe that children are a blessing from the Lord, and that Jesus loves children. (Matthew 19:13-15)
The book of Samuel describes Hannah as a barren woman who earnestly prayed to the Lord to give her a child. As she prayed, she promised that her child would serve the Lord. Hannah understood that her vow to God was sacred. She followed through on her commitment, dedicating her son, Samuel, to the Lord. Hannah declared, “I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the Lord.” (I Samuel 27-28a)
We follow the example from Scripture by including baby dedications in the services on the second Sunday of the month. Parents who are dedicating a baby are asked to fill out the Dedication Card at the Welcome Center before the start of the service. The Dedication will take place after our Praise and Worship time.
